How to Do Quick Dip Nails
Quick dip nails are fast becoming one of the best ways to get great looking nails. We are often asked “how to do quick dip nails”, so we thought we’d write an article on how to do apply quick dip nails, to make the dip application process as smooth as possible for you if you are trying it for the first time.
The Process of Applying Quick Dip Nails
Every kit will have its own procedures to follow, but generally, they often follow this list of actions to take…
1. Prepare your nails thoroughly by removing any surplus cuticle. It also tends to help when you gently rub the outer nail layer, as the dip will then adhere nicer to a matte nail texture than a polished one. Finally, use 100% acetone to erase any oils from the nail exterior.
2. Once you have done this, add a layer of base to just one nail. This is because the base will dry very quickly. You can apply the base by stroking the base towards the tip of the nail, rather than stroking to the cuticle of your nail.
3. Once dry, dip one nail into the dip powder, stand for a couple of seconds, then tap/brush off the extra dip powder so not too much is applied.
4. Apply a further thin coating of base color to the very same nail, as well as tap off the extra powder.
5. You can repeat the steps above with each nail, and you can dip multiple times for each nail if you wish the colour to be darker. Sometimes people choose to have two or three dips depending on their own taste..
6. After you’ve applied all of the coats to all of the nails, apply the activator and let it sit for about five minutes. During this stage, you should file the outer layer of the nail. As you might expect, trying to apply multiple coats can result in a nail that is quite bulky, so you’ll want to smooth the surface at the very least. This can be accomplished by using a scrubbing block or a file.
Once the process has been completed, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly. You may wish to wipe your hands and nails with alcohol to ensure they are clean. You don’t want any dip powder getting all over your clothes or home furnishings.
The whole quick dip nail process can be hard to get the hang of, but the more you do it, the easier it will be to apply the dip powder nails, and the quicker you will be able to do it. By carrying out the dip powder manicure yourself, you can save a lot of time and money by not attending expensive beauty parlours to get nails done that don’t last as long, and often don’t look as good as dip powder nails.
