Dip Powder Nails with Tips Guide
Step 1
To avoid any interruption during the application process, gather together everything that you will need. The items you will need include…
- Artificial Nail Tips
- Nail Adhesive
- Dip Powder Nail
- Clean Fluffy Brush
- Lint-Free Wipes (optional)
Step 2
- Prep nails and apply a coat of bond at the edge of your natural nail tips.
- Apply a tiny amount of glue to fix the faux nail tip to your nail. Take care not to miss the sides! If you find it hard to fix, use less glue. Less is more is key when it comes to attaching faux nail tips.
- Wait two minutes to allow the glue to set properly, then cut the faux nail tips to your preferred length. You may wish to shape and file your nails at this stage to the look you want.
- Once you have done this, make sure you buff the entire nail (both natural & the faux tip) with a buffer to create a rough surface. This ensures that the dip will properly attach to your nails. We would recommend that you use the buffer to gently push back your cuticles.
Step 3
Before beginning with the dip nails application process, make sure you apply the bond to all of your natural nail. Make sure you also apply the bond at the point where the faux nail tip attaches to the natural nail. This prevents any oiliness that may stop the dip from attaching to your nails.
Wait for around 1-2 minutes to allow the bond to set. For the best results, make sure you follow the next steps one finger at a time. Taking your time is the key to creating dip powder nails that look the part!
Step 4
Apply the base halfway on the natural nail and carefully take the time to sweep out to the edge of your nail tip. Once you have done this, dip your fingernail right away into the dip powder.
Repeat this process with all your nails until they have all been done. The final step to finish off your dip powder nails is to apply an even layer of base to protect your nails further.
Voila! You now have great looking dip powder nails with faux nail tips. Have you got any tips for success? Let us know!
